PRESS RELEASE

Breisach/Freiburg, 4 March 2026 - BadenCampus is strengthening its strategic position in the field of artificial intelligence and digitalization: Dr. Niklas Goby, previously Head of AI Services, is taking on the role of Chief Technology Officer (CTO) with immediate effect, thus complementing the management team. With this expanded responsibility, BadenCampus is bundling technology, product and delivery expertise at the highest level with a clear focus on feasible AI solutions for companies.

Dr. Goby is a practice-oriented AI leader with a strong engineering background. He leads complex data and AI projects from strategy to technical implementation, including proof of concepts and rollout in central functions and operational business units. His profile combines platform and product thinking with strong implementation skills in program and project management, IT implementation, data analytics and big data. His experience from the corporate and start-up world - including as co-founder and CTO of Geospin - makes him particularly strong in translating business needs precisely into scalable technical solutions.

"The topic of AI has quickly taken on a central role in our service portfolio. In addition to his excellent technological expertise, Niklas brings valuable experience from setting up, managing and selling a technology start-up as well as from management roles in corporate and technology consulting. This makes him an ideal fit for the further development of our organization, and his appointment is a logical step," says Dr. Thomas Scheuerle, Managing Director of BadenCampus.

With the newly created role of CTO, BadenCampus is taking particular account of three developments that are crucial for SMEs and small and medium-sized enterprises:

  • Faster from use cases to results with clearly prioritized use cases, pragmatic roadmaps and fast prototypes to rollout.
  • Safe investment in a supposedly uncertain topic thanks to solid architecture, transparent process models and reliable implementation partners, especially for GenAI and data platforms.
  • Scalable AI instead of isolated solutions with a platform and product approach that integrates solutions into processes (e.g. corporate functions) and makes them sustainable to operate.

"My aim is to build AI in such a way that it really works in everyday life: clean in its architecture, pragmatic in its prioritization and consistent in its implementation," says Dr. Niklas Goby. Together with the AI team, which was established last year and has grown rapidly, BadenCampus not only wants to transform itself into an AI-based organization, but also support companies, research institutions and local authorities in exploiting the full potential of AI. The aim is to create tangible, measurable benefits and, as a driver of innovation, not only to develop solutions, but also to show how these technologies can help companies and organizations make sustainable progress.
