We are now represented with a new location at the innocel Innovation Center in Lörrach. Together with WFL Wirtschaftsförderung Lörrach GmbH and Wirtschaftsregion Südwest GmbH (WSW), we aim to provide even more direct support to companies and municipalities in the districts of Lörrach and Waldshut as they work to put future-oriented topics such as digitalization, automation, and artificial intelligence into practice.
Our goal is clear: Innovation shouldn’t remain abstract. It should become understandable, tangible, and, above all, usable—especially for small and medium-sized businesses looking for concrete solutions for their day-to-day operations.
With our presence at innocel, we’re making it easier to connect with the region. Companies, municipalities, and network partners in the Lörrach area now have direct access to BadenCampus’s offerings: from innovation initiatives and startup collaborations to funding programs, technological expertise, and hands-on implementation support.
Philipp Reichenbach will manage the new BadenCampus location at innocel. He will serve as the point of contact for businesses and local governments in the districts of Lörrach and Waldshut.

Our partnership with WFL and WSW is nothing new; among other things, we’ve already worked together successfully on the “Zukunft.Raum.Schwarzwald” project. With the new location in Lörrach, we’re now taking this partnership to the next level.

Our thematic innovation platforms are a key component of our collaboration. Through them, we connect startups, small and medium-sized businesses, established companies, research institutions, and local governments across regional boundaries.
With smartXautomation, we make topics such as automation, robotics, and digital production applicable and accessible to small and medium-sized businesses.
With smartXhealth, we are strengthening the network within the healthcare industry and medical technology sector—including connections between companies in Lörrach and Waldshut, hospitals, research institutions, and partners from the Freiburg and Ortenau innovation hubs.
With smartXregion, we support cities and municipalities on issues such as sustainable transformation, modern infrastructure, energy, and climate protection.
Through closer integration with WFL and WSW, these platforms are gaining even greater visibility in the region and creating new opportunities for exchange, cooperation, and concrete projects.
The new alliance focuses on concrete use cases and rapid learning success. Whether it’s AI in everyday office life, automated processes, or new digital business models, together with WFL and WSW, we want to show companies what’s already possible today and how they can successfully get started.

Local partners also view BadenCampus’s new presence as an important step for the region. “With innocel, the city of Lörrach has an established hub for innovation, entrepreneurship, and networking. The fact that BadenCampus now has a stronger presence in Lörrach and, together with WFL and WSW, is providing new impetus for the region’s businesses is an important contribution and a strong signal for the future viability of our business location,” explains Mayor Jörg Lutz.

Specifically, I expect the smartXhealth platform to provide greater visibility for our companies within the regional life sciences cluster and beyond the region.”
