Reducing climate impact
The district of Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald is currently drawing up an integrated climate adaptation concept for its towns and municipalities. The aim of climate adaptation is to reduce the impact of climate change, prevent damage and keep life in the municipalities liveable. The district would like to use this to increase its resilience to the ongoing and acute consequences of climate change. All relevant stakeholder groups are involved in the development of the adaptation concept in order to anchor climate adaptation as an interdisciplinary and sustainable task in the district. The aim of stakeholder participation is both to integrate specialist knowledge and to increase acceptance and motivation for climate adaptation measures and their implementation. As part of this, the ClimateResilienceForge was carried out with a pilot municipality.
The role of the BadenCampus
The idea of KlimaResilienzSchmiede is to support municipalities in their individual needs for action by supporting the search for solutions and implementation in the field of climate adaptation through workshops with external experts (students, start-ups, etc.). The aim is to create innovative, digital climate adaptation measures through cooperation.
On the basis of inter-municipal cooperation and based on real needs, such as in Nachtwaidstraße in Bötzingen, tailor-made solutions for climate change adaptation were developed under the direction of the BadenCampus and through this format.
The jointly achieved results and developed measures are in turn supported in their implementation by the Smart Region Future Lab.
