Transformation pressure
Energy supply companies and small and medium-sized municipal utilities in particular are under great pressure to transform. Both existing business models and structures are being put to the test. In addition to major regulatory changes, customer needs have also evolved. A utility company is no longer just a company that provides electricity and heat.
Stadtwerke Weinheim recognized this in good time and initiated a fresh cell cure. As part of the strategy project, a new vision is to be created and existing business models evaluated and new ones identified and pre-developed. SWW also wants to use the project to change the culture within the organization.
Role of BadenCampus
BadenCampus was brought in as a consultant to support the project team in management and implementation. After analysing the existing business models, potential new ones were identified and prioritized based on SWW's individual criteria.
As part of a pre-development process, these were further developed in expert teams. As the process continued, the expert teams received methodological and content-related support in developing the business models.
In addition, information relevant to Stadtwerke Weinheim's vision was collected with the help of interviews (customers, employees, stakeholders). The vision was communicated to the workforce at a works council meeting.
