State Secretary Thomas Dörflinger personally presented the grant to the project team, thereby kicking off the next phase of development for the regional digitalization center.
To bring this project to life, BadenCampus, bwcon, and machn GmbH are pooling their expertise. Together, the partners are pursuing a clear goal: to support small and medium-sized enterprises as well as startups in the Southern Upper Rhine region in making targeted use of digital technologies and sustainably strengthening their competitiveness.
The focus is on specific areas of application with direct benefits for business operations: artificial intelligence and robotics, modern cybersecurity, and intelligent, measurable processes. Particular emphasis is placed on internal workflows within companies—processes that often take place behind the scenes but are crucial to a company’s efficiency, quality, and growth.
“Together, we want to identify tailor-made automation solutions that will help companies save significant time and money,” explains Ana Breton from the bwcon regional office. DigiHub provides companies with comprehensive support throughout the process—from analyzing existing processes to selecting suitable technologies and implementing concrete solutions.
The Käpsele Innovation Festival provided the perfect setting. Innovative companies, startups, research institutions, and other stakeholders from Germany, France, and Switzerland gathered at the Freiburg Exhibition Center. This made it clear right from the start what DigiHub Südbaden 3.0 stands for: cross-border collaboration, practical knowledge transfer, and a strong regional innovation ecosystem.
The DigiHub is supported by a network of dedicated partners who contribute their diverse expertise and perspectives. Together, they create a space where companies can learn about new technologies, test potential applications, and develop concrete digitalization projects.
DigiHub Südbaden 3.0 is funded by the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labor, and Tourism as part of the “Wirtschaft digital BW” and “digital.LÄND” initiatives.
With the official launch, the practical work continues: jointly identifying digital opportunities, developing viable solutions, and strengthening the region’s future viability.
