The opinions, concerns and wishes of (potential) customers are essential for the development of new products, services and business models. This applies equally to private customers (B2C) as well as business and corporate customers (B2B).

Effective customer orientation and customer centricity begins even before the product or service is launched on the market. In successful innovation projects, customer feedback is obtained right at the start to gain a better understanding of challenges and pain points. As soon as an initial prototype is available, for example in the form of a service description, a product sketch, a "click dummy" or similar, the feedback from the target group must be collected again in a structured manner. This is the only way to ensure that the development meets the needs of the market.

However, many companies and project teams lack access to test persons. In practice, it is difficult to obtain a wide range of opinions, especially when new target groups are to be developed that have not previously been part of the customer base. This entails the high and, above all, cost-intensive risk of missing the market and failing to meet demand.
